most people

the movie 'Despicable Me 2' just came out some time ago, and there was this McDonalds who were selling these little yellow minion toys which were a hit in the movie.

And all of a sudden, people were SO CRAZY to get their hands on them.

Read in some news that hordes of people lined up at McDs by 12am...just to buy the toy. Read further news that one of the fast food joints' roller-shutter were even damaged because of queuing (due to pushing and shoving I presume).

Like, seriously?

For a small yellow toy with overalls and goggles?

And Bro Tat who is in Perth just went to some random Maccas (McD in Aus-TRAE-lian slang) and picked up a few minions like it was a pack of gum from 7E.

But queuing up and acting so kiasu for it?
Its not like you've known these things for a long time or it was from your childhood and stuff! They just want it coz its cool. and cute, claims 'some other people'.

I think that...the thing is...

Most people don't really know what they want.

So they just follow the trend.

Trends are cool, and is popular, and everybody knows about it.
So, why not?

Something is trending.
You pick it up, I pick it up, we pick it up, and we'll all be talking about it and discussing it and shit like that.

The same happened with Gangnam Style and all those parodies.

The same happened too with Harlem Shake and all those parodies.

And the same happened too with Gentleman and all those shit.

Man, these people have no soul.

(and man, who am I to judge these people.)

haven't update for quite some time now...but who really cares anyways these days? better to just tweet or insta with some 'hashtags'...

just for a little something something, I found myself in Singapore at this moment for the university internship programme...completely different from last summer in Beijing of course.

Honestly not really having fun (everything is so expensive) and also, that sense and urge of exploration has somewhat diminished, compared to the time when I was in Beijing...

Blah. That aside, just hoping I can earn a little pocket money...if i am able to.
